How you use this book is up to you....

There is no single “right” way to use 200 Fat Loss Hacks, Tips & Strategies.

The book has been designed to work around you; your experience, your circumstances and the areas where you need the most help.

You can read it from beginning to end, go directly to a particular challenge, use the built-in navigation tools to find relevant strategies, or complete the online assessment and let your answers help identify where to start.

1. Start with your situation — use a Strategy Stack

Sometimes you know something isn't working, but the problem isn't limited to one part of fat loss.

You might struggle to stay on track at weekends, feel hungry whenever you try to lose fat, lack confidence in the gym, repeatedly fall into an all-or-nothing approach, or find it difficult to make fat loss fit around a busy lifestyle.

That's where the Strategy Stacks can help.

Each Stack starts with a recognisable real-life situation, behaviour or recurring pattern and brings together relevant Hacks, Tips & Strategies from different parts of the book.

Rather than searching through all 200 ideas yourself, you have a more focused selection of strategies to explore.

You don't need to use them all. Pick the ones that suit your circumstances, experiment with them and gradually build an approach that works for you.

Best for: when you recognise a particular situation or pattern that is making fat loss more difficult.

2. Start with what you want to improve — use a Support Area

You may already know exactly where you need help.

Perhaps you want to become better at maintaining a calorie deficit, increase your protein intake, manage hunger, improve your food choices, become more active, get more from resistance training, protect muscle while losing fat, improve consistency or track your progress more effectively.

The Support Areas organise relevant Hacks, Tips & Strategies around these specific parts of the fat-loss process.

This gives you a quick way to go directly to ideas that could strengthen a particular part of your approach.

You can focus on one Support Area, combine several, or return to different areas as your priorities and circumstances change.

Best for: when you already know the specific area (or areas) you want to improve.

3. Start at the beginning — get the full picture

If you're new to fat loss, aren't yet sure what's holding you back, or feel that you need help across several different areas, the best approach may simply be to read the book from beginning to end, and there's an important reason for that.

The value of the book isn't limited to the 200 Hacks, Tips & Strategies.

Throughout the chapters you'll also find practical guidance and explanations designed to help you understand the principles behind successful and sustainable fat loss, including calorie balance, protein, resistance training, cardio, goal setting, realistic expectations, planning, tracking progress and, crucially, how to stay consistent.

That wider knowledge provides the context behind the individual strategies. It can help you understand why different approaches work, make better decisions and identify weaknesses in your current approach that you may not have realised were there. You can then return to the Strategy Stacks and Support Areas whenever you want more focused help.

Best for: anyone new to fat loss, anyone wanting a broader understanding, or anyone facing challenges across several different areas.

4. Not sure where to start? Let the assessment help

Sometimes the hardest part isn't finding ideas, it's knowing which ideas are most relevant to you. To help with this, book owners can also complete the 28-question online assessment. Your answers are used to identify the areas of the book that appear most relevant to your circumstances and challenges.

The assessment then brings together a personalised Strategy Stack of suggested Hacks, Tips & Strategies to give you a practical starting point. It doesn't prescribe a fixed plan or tell you that there is only one way to succeed. Instead, it helps narrow 200 possibilities into a more manageable selection based on the answers you provide.

You can review those recommendations in the book, decide which ones fit your circumstances and then add, remove or combine strategies as you learn what works for you. The assessment can also highlight areas you may not have initially considered, making it particularly useful if you're unsure exactly what's getting in the way of your progress.

Best for: when you'd like some help identifying your priorities and choosing where to begin.

Your book. Your route. Your strategy.

These approaches aren't mutually exclusive. You might read the whole book first and later use a Strategy Stack. You might start with a Support Area and explore others as your needs change. You might complete the assessment to identify some initial priorities and then use the book to explore those recommendations in more detail. Or you can simply pick individual Hacks, Tips & Strategies whenever they become useful.

The aim is not to follow a rigid programme, adopt all 200 strategies or change everything at once.

It's to understand the fundamentals, identify what matters most to you and choose a manageable number of strategies that fit your life.

Then adapt them, combine them and build on them over time.

The book gives you the knowledge and the options. The navigation tools help you find what matters. The assessment can help you decide where to start.

The 200 Hacks, Tips & Strategies in this book aren’t intended to be tackled all at once. The aim is to identify a small number that are particularly relevant to you and combine them into a Strategy Stack — a manageable set of actions you can focus on putting into practice.

The idea is simple: make a few useful changes, give them time to become part of everyday life, then build from there.

Trying to change too much at once can quickly become overwhelming and difficult to sustain. A Strategy Stack takes the opposite approach. By concentrating on a smaller number of realistic actions, you can make them easier to adopt, repeat and eventually turn into habits.

Once a hack, tip or strategy feels established (when it becomes something you do naturally rather than something you have to keep reminding yourself to do) you can review your stack. You might decide to keep it as it is, replace something that hasn’t been particularly helpful, or introduce another Hack, Tip or Strategy when you feel ready. That means your Strategy Stack is not a fixed plan. It is designed to evolve with you.

You may start with four or five Hacks, Tips & Strategies addressing your biggest current challenges. A few weeks later, some may have become part of your normal routine, allowing you to turn your attention to something else. As your habits, circumstances, confidence and priorities change, your stack can change too. This makes the process less about repeatedly being “on” or “off” a plan and more about gradually building a way of eating, moving and living that you can sustain.

Start with the foundations

Some hacks, tips & strategies are identified as Foundational because they support many of the other approaches in the book and are particularly important to successful, sustainable fat loss. If one or more of these foundations is missing from your current approach, it may make sense to include them in your starting Strategy Stack before adding more specific strategies.

From there, you can build around the challenges that matter most to you — whether that’s hunger, consistency, exercise, social occasions, motivation, food choices, tracking, weekends or something else.

You don’t have to choose everything yourself

The book includes ready-made Strategy Stacks for common situations and challenges, as well as different ways to navigate the 200 Hacks, Tips & Strategies. Purchasers can also use the Book Strategy Finder assessment, which looks across a wider range of behaviours and challenges to help identify useful areas to focus on and create a personalised starting Strategy Stack.

However you choose your strategies, the principle remains the same:

Start with what matters most. Keep it manageable. Build habits. Review what’s working. Then add or adapt when you’re ready.

The goal isn’t to complete a Strategy Stack.

It’s to keep evolving it until the useful Hacks, Tips & Strategies simply become part of how you live.

4. Not sure where to start? Let the assessment help

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t finding ideas, it’s knowing which ideas are most relevant to you. Book owners can complete the 28-question Book Strategy Finder assessment, which looks at different aspects of your current approach, behaviours and challenges.

Your answers are used to identify areas that may deserve particular attention and bring together a personalised starting Strategy Stack of suggested Hacks, Tips & Strategies. It doesn’t prescribe a fixed programme or suggest that there is only one way to succeed. Its purpose is to help narrow 200 possibilities into a more manageable and relevant starting point based on the answers you provide.

It can also highlight areas you may not initially have considered, making it particularly useful if you know you want to make progress but aren’t completely sure what is getting in the way. You can then find the recommended Hacks, Tips & Strategies in the book and explore the thinking and practical guidance behind them.

Best for: when you’d like some help identifying your priorities and deciding where to begin.

The point is that you don’t have to use the book in one prescribed way.

The book gives you the knowledge and the options. The navigation tools help you find what matters. The assessment can help you decide where to start.

Read one of the Hacks, Tips & Strategies from the book below (more can be found throughout the website pages)

One of the biggest mistakes people make is starting their plan at a level that only makes sense later in the journey. If you’re currently overweight, unfit or out of routine, even simple things can feel challenging. A short walk might feel tough. Changing your diet might feel extremely restrictive. Your energy levels may not be where you want them to be and that’s completely normal.

But instead of starting from where they currently are, many people try to jump straight to where they think they should be. They build a plan based on the end goal: Training like someone who’s already fit, eating like someone who’s been disciplined for years, following a routine that doesn’t match their current lifestyle. This creates unnecessary friction.

If you’ve spent years eating less nutritious foods, switching overnight to a highly restrictive ‘perfect’ diet is going to feel difficult. If you’ve been inactive, jumping into intense, frequent workouts is going to feel overwhelming.

The result? It becomes too much, too soon and the plan doesn’t last. Instead, meet yourself where you are. Start with manageable activity (short walks, basic workouts), simple dietary improvements (small swaps, not complete overhauls) with realistic expectations of what you can sustain. Then build from there.

As you get fitter, lighter and more consistent, you can increase intensity, improve food quality and tighten your plan. But you earn that progression over time, you don’t start there.

Don’t try to build your starting plan like your end plan. Start where you are, then grow into it.

BOOK FAQs

The PDF and flip book editions contain 188 pages, covering 200 practical hacks, tips and strategies across 13 chapters. The e-reader edition (ePub format) does not have a fixed page count because the text automatically adjusts to your chosen screen size and font settings.

Many fat-loss books give you a plan to follow. This book helps you build one that fits you.

Inside are 200 Hacks, Tips & Strategies covering nutrition, exercise, planning, habits, motivation, consistency and the situations that commonly make fat loss difficult. You are not expected to use all 200 — the aim is to identify the relatively small number that could make the biggest difference to you.

To make that easier, the book includes 13 Strategy Stacks, each grouping relevant strategies around a particular challenge — such as hunger and cravings, weekends, social situations, getting started, motivation, planning or stalled progress.

You can follow a Stack, combine ideas from several Stacks, or simply pick and mix individual strategies. There is also a Personal Strategy Assessment to help you identify where to start and build a more personalised set of strategies.

So rather than asking you to fit your life around somebody else’s programme, the book gives you the tools to create an approach that can fit around your circumstances, challenges and preferences.

Most fat-loss books give you a plan. This one helps you build yours.

You will receive the complete eBook in PDF, flip book and ePUB formats. The PDF and flip book preserve the book’s original design and can be read on a phone, tablet or computer. The flip book allows you read in a format more in line with a traditional book with graphic page turning. The ePUB version automatically adjusts to your screen and is suitable for compatible e-readers such as Kindle and Kobo (amongst others) and reading apps. All formats are better suited to a desktop computer, tablet or e-reader due to the relatively small size of phone screens (and therefore text).

This is a digital purchase, so no physical book will be posted. A paperback edition is planned for 2027.

This book is designed for people who want to lose fat but recognise that knowing the basics and consistently applying them are often two different things.

It may be particularly useful if you:

Are unsure where to start or what to prioritise

Broadly know what to do but struggle to actually begin

Start well but find it difficult to stay consistent

Struggle with hunger, cravings or snacking

Find weekends, meals out, alcohol or social occasions difficult

Have a busy or unpredictable routine

Feel unsure about exercise or the gym

Become discouraged when progress slows or the scale fluctuates

Have tried overly restrictive approaches that were difficult to maintain

Simply want more practical ideas for making fat loss easier to fit into everyday life

You do not need to have the same challenges as somebody else — that is one of the reasons there are 200 strategies and 13 different Strategy Stacks.

The book is also not a rigid meal plan or a fixed training programme. It is designed to help you understand the fundamentals, explore different options and choose strategies that are realistic for you.

If you want to see how that works before buying, the 6-question Strategy Preview on this page can show you which areas of the book may be particularly relevant to your circumstances.
